VLESS on a $4 4G Day Pass: Send a Whole Phone Through for a Day
Published
Most proxy guides are about browsers. This one is about phones. A VLESS tunnel takes every app on an Android or iOS device, not just a browser, and sends it through your US 4G line, so the phone behaves as if its SIM were sitting in our rack in Miami or Chicago. On a $4 day pass that gives you a US phone for a day: store apps, deal apps, maps, logins, everything. The setup takes a few minutes and uses free client apps. Here is the phone-first walkthrough, with the honest notes about speed and battery at the end.
Why a tunnel instead of a proxy setting
Phones are awkward with plain proxies. Android's Wi-Fi proxy setting only applies on Wi-Fi and many apps ignore it; iOS is similar. A VLESS tunnel works at the system level: the client app creates a VPN-style connection on the phone, and everything the phone sends goes down the tunnel to our server and out through your 4G line's carrier address. Apps cannot tell the difference, so banking apps, shopping apps and games all see a US carrier connection.
VLESS is the protocol; the traffic is encrypted and carried over port 443 so it looks like ordinary secure web traffic on the way to us. You do not need to understand it to use it. The dashboard produces a ready link, and the client apps read that link directly.
Getting the link from the dashboard
Open your line at buy.usa4gproxies.com and find the VLESS section. It shows a link beginning with vless:// and a QR code of the same link. The link already carries the server address, the port, your identity and the settings, so there is nothing to type by hand. Copy it to the clipboard on the phone, or keep the QR code on a screen you can point the phone's camera at.
The link belongs to this line. If you buy a different day pass tomorrow, copy the new link; the old one stops working when the old pass expires.
Setting up the phone, step by step
Pick a client for your platform. On Android, Hiddify and v2rayNG are free and read vless links directly. On iOS, Streisand and Hiddify are free; Shadowrocket is a paid app that many people already own. On a desktop you can use v2rayN or Hiddify in the same way. The steps are nearly identical across all of them.
- Install the client from the Play Store, App Store or the project's download page, and open it.
- Tap the add or plus button and choose 'import from clipboard' (or 'scan QR code' and point the camera at the dashboard).
- The new profile appears with our server name. Tap it to select it, then tap the connect button; accept the system prompt that asks permission to create a VPN connection.
- Open a browser on the phone and load an IP-checking page. It should show a United States address on AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA or Verizon Wireless, in or near the metro you chose.
- Open the apps you came for. When you are done, tap disconnect; the phone goes back to its own connection instantly.
Rotation and metro moves while tunnelled
Rotating the line works exactly as it does for the proxy ports: press Rotate in the dashboard or open the rotation link, and within seconds the tunnel's exit address changes to a new one on the same carrier in the same metro. The tunnel itself stays up; apps simply see a new public address. Moving the line to another metro also keeps the tunnel alive, because the server address in the link does not change, only the SIM behind it.
One phone, one line is the clean arrangement. Because the tunnel carries everything on the device, any app that geolocates by IP will think the phone is in the metro you picked, so set the phone's time zone to match if an app compares the two.
Honest notes on speed and battery
A 4G line is rated at up to 25 Mbps download. Through a tunnel you lose a little to encryption overhead, and the phone is now sending every byte, including background syncing, through a carrier connection in another city. For browsing, apps and logins it feels normal. For streaming or large app downloads it will feel like a 4G phone, because that is what it is. If the day is video-heavy, the 5G line at $5 rated at up to 50 Mbps is the better buy, and 5G+ at $2 more sits on top of that for the fastest option we sell.
Battery use goes up a little while the tunnel is on, as with any VPN. Disconnect when you are finished. The day pass keeps running for its 24 hours either way, and you can reconnect any time before it ends.
Frequently asked
Which app should I use on Android and on iPhone?
Hiddify or v2rayNG on Android, Streisand or Hiddify on iOS, all free. Shadowrocket also works on iOS if you already own it.
Does the tunnel cover all apps or just the browser?
All apps. The client creates a system-level VPN connection, so everything the phone sends goes through the 4G line.
Can I use the vless link and the HTTP proxy at the same time?
Yes. They are two doors into the same line and share one exit address. A laptop on the proxy port and a phone on the tunnel will show the same IP.
Is VLESS slower than the plain proxy?
Slightly, because of encryption, but the 4G radio is the real ceiling. You will not notice the difference in normal use.
